FILA unveiled a special-edition footwear design, the FILA Spoiler x Grant Hill “Draft Day,” celebrating the 25th anniversary of the year Hill was drafted into the league.
FILA first partnered with Grant in 1994, when he was selected by Detroit as the third overall draft pick. Last fall, the brand reunited with the Naismith Basketball Hall of Famer to sign a lifetime deal. Throughout his professional career with FILA, Hill hit the court in a range of sneaker styles that remain iconic silhouettes.
Hill wore the Spoiler at the start of his first professional season, prior to the development of his own signature shoes. The limited-edition FILA Spoiler x Grant Hill “Draft Day” fuses FILA’s design history and Grant’s Draft Day fashion swagger. The footwear was created in white, with accents of black. Among the featured design elements is a bold green and white graphic pattern that appears on the shoe’s iconic strap closure and insole, designed to pay homage to the tie that Grant wore on Draft Day in 1994.
“When I got off to that hot start in my professional career, right out of the gate, I was wearing the Spoiler,” said Hill. “This is the shoe that started the journey for me and the release brings back a lot of wonderful memories.”
Additional product details include tonal FILA branding on the upper and midsole, with additional logo hits on the tongue, above the toe guard, strap, and back counter. The velcro straps are among the shoe’s standout features, to offer flexibility in fit.
The FILA Spoiler x Grant Hill “Draft Day” retails for $90. As another nod to Hill’s Draft Day selection, only 94 pairs of the shoes are available, exclusively on FILA.com.
